UPDATE: One Dead, One Hospitalized After Robertsdale Shooting

April 7, 2018-Hammond Police have confirmed that they responded to the 1500 block of Myrtle Avenue at approximately 9:30 p.m. tonight after multiple residents reported hearing gunshots according to a report from Lt. Steven Kellogg.   One resident on scene reported hearing 8-10 gunshots from a field and, as you can see in the photo below, officers marked multiple locations where casings were found.  A truck on scene had visible bullet holes and was towed.

“Upon arrival, officers located two black males with gunshot wounds” Lt. Kellogg Stated. One male has since passed. His identity is being withheld pending notification of family. The other male suffered a gunshot wound to the leg according to the report. He is being treated at a local hospital.

Lt. Kellogg states that police have no suspects at this time and that this is an active investigation.

    • We had 116th in the original article. The update was directly from Lt. Kellogg. I double checked because I heard the initial call on the scanner and it was clearly 1600 block.
