South Shore Trains Delayed at Michigan Due to Pedestrian Fatality

October 5, 2017-NICTD, the operator of the South Shore Line, has announced that trains are delayed leaving Michigan City due to a pedestrian fatality. The news blurb did not provide details and we are working to get updated information. The incident was first reported as a delay at 7:32 p.m. tonight. At 7:55 NICTD issued the following statement:

“Information Update: Trains 117, 17, 119, and 22 remain stopped for an undertermined
amount of time, due to a pedestrian fatality at Grace St. in Michigan City. Updates
to follow when further information is available.”

At 8:00 p.m. NICTD stated all trains are now “on the move” again.
