Police allege argument began when Sierra Marie Gentry accused boyfriend of leaving her alone without cigarettes
June 16, 2017-Lake Station Police say an argument that began over cigarettes nearly turned lethal earlier this week. According to the probable cause affidavit filed in the case, 26 year old Sierra Marie Gentry began yelling at her live in boyfriend and “accusing him of leaving her without any cigarettes.” The boyfriend then told Gentry that he had to leave for work at which time she “took a swing at him.” The boyfriend then told her to “pack her stuff and be gone before he returned.” Gentry then ran up behind the boyfriend with a knife at which time another roommate helped to subdue her. The pair wrestled the knife from Gentry and the boyfriend noticed he was bleeding from the abdomen. The boyfriend was taken to a local hosptial for treatment and was required to have exploratory surgery to determine the extent of the damage according to the sworn statement.
Sierra Marie Gentry was charged with battery committed with a deadly weapon, a level 5 felony. She has a pending charge of domestic battery in Lake Station City Court.
