Road Rage Shooting Leads to Felony Charges for Gary Man

March 23, 2017-Gary Police say a 23 year old Gary man is in custody and will face a felony charge after shooting into another vehicle. According to Lt. Thomas Pawlak, On a March 23, 2017 Sgt. William Fazekas of the Gary Police Department Violent Crimes Unit secured charges against Spencer Patterson (23) of Gary. The charges stem from a March 21, 2017 incident in the area of 5th Ave and Delaware St. Gary in which Patterson shot into another vehicle during a road rage incident. The victim was able to provide officers with the description of Patterson’s vehicle which was stopped at 4th Ave and Polk St. in Gary. The victim of the incident was able to identify Patterson as the shooter. The victim’s car was struck twice in the driver’s door. The victim was not hurt. Patterson was charged with Criminal Recklessness (level 6 Felony) and Carrying a Handgun without a License (class A Misdeanor). Patterson is currently in custody.
