March 23, 2017-Just moments ago Gary Police were called to the Petro Gas Station, 3001 Grant Street, Gary, Indiana for a report of shots fired. According to a report obtained via the scanner, upon arrival police found a vehicle with its windows shot out. One witness reported the harrowing incident as follows on social media:
My life jus flashed before my eyes y’all! My family and myself was just in the middle of a crossfire on Grant st right before u get on 80/94. Man when i say God was with us, HE WAS TRULY WATCHIN OVER US YA HEAR ME! Cuz we were in the middle of both cars that was shooting at each other. All i could do is duck down, try to put my car in reverse, but i didn’t move. At that time all i could do was think about my babies, and what will they do w/o me!!! But God had otha plans…. He was truly our shield! Man y’all i am so shaken up ion know what to do…… All we could do is lie down and pray! And it helped believe it or not. Wow i am in such disbelief, now I’m a firm believer in One min u here da next u gone!
This is a breaking report. Gary Police have not issued a statement on the issue. No injuries were reported. We will update the story when additional details are available.
UPDATE: Gary Police have received at least three calls of shots fired from a silver or grey Chevrolet Impala. One man was shot in the foot.
