Hammond Police responded to Papa John’s in the 7200 block of Indianapolis Blvd at approximately 10:25 p.m. on Oct. 31 according to Lt. Steven Kellogg of the Hammond Police Department. November 1, 2018-Hammond Police say a 21 year old male was shot in the head during a robbery last night at Papa John’s Pizza, 7244 Indianapolis Blvd. According to a report from Lt. Steven Kellogg of the Hammond Police Department, two black male suspects entered the restaurant with firearms and demanded cash. Both suspects are described as black males who were wearing masks between 5’10” and 6′ tall, with a slender build. “During the robbery, one of the victims, a 21-year-old male from Hammond, was shot in the head by one of the suspects. The victim was injured but is currently in a Chicago area hospital in stable condition.
The suspects fled on foot according to Lt. Kellogg. Hammond Police searched the area but no suspects were located. Anyone with information regarding the robbery and shooting is urged to contact Hammond Police Detective Sergeant Jeffrey Ritter at 219-852-2990.
