October 1, 2018-Police called for tow trucks to impound two vehicles at the Wal-Mart which was the scene of an active shooter incident earlier tonight. According to information derived from the scanner, a 2013 Mazda, registered to an address in LaPorte, Indiana and a blue Subaru were being impounded as evidence. It is not clear what the role of the vehicles in the incident may be and it is possible that they are totally unrelated. The LaPorte registration may broaden the area for a suspect however and we wanted to get that information out as soon as possible. A photo of the person of interest released by the Northwest Indiana Major Crimes Task Force is attached below:

NWI Major Crimes Task Force Commander Don Foley identified the man in this photo as a person of interest in tonight's Wal-Mart shooting. All criminal suspects are presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable dout in a court of law.
