24 Y.O. Highland Man Seriously Injured in Motorcycle Accident on Kennedy Avenue

September 13, 2018-Highland Police and Fire Personnel responded to the intersection of Kennedy and Duluth in Highland at approximately 6:34 p.m. tonight after an accident involving a BMW motorcycle and a Dodge Ram truck.  According to a statement from Commander Banasiak of the Highland Police, “on arrival Officers found the driver of the BMW motorcycle, a 24 year old male from Highland, laying in the roadway with severe injuries to his entire body.”  Police say that the man was transported to Methodist Hospital Northlake.  The driver of the Dodge Ram did not sustain injuries according to the report.  “Preliminary information shows that the Dodge Ram was southbound on Kennedy Avenue in the left turn lane when it began to left turn to travel eastbound on Duluth Street.  The BMW motorcycle was northbound on Kennedy Avenue in the outer lane and the motorcycle struck the right rear of the Dodge Ram in the intersection” according to Police.  The Lake County Accident Reconstruction Team was called to assist Highland Police with the investigation which is still ongoing.
