Griffith Police Seek Assistance Identifying and Locating Burglary/Hit and Run Suspect

Griffith Police seek information regaridng burglary and hit and run

July 20, 2018-Police in Griffith are seeking assistance from the public after a man allegedly fled the scene of an accident, broke into a home and stole another car to get away. According to a statement from Commander Keith Martin of the Griffith Police Department, “Police are searching for the suspect, pictured below, who is believed to have been involved in a hit and run accident in the 200 block of E Ridge Rd in Griffith at approx 11:45AM on July 20th.” Police say the man fled the accident scene on foot and a nearby resident then called stating that “someonehad broken into their home while they were present, took a purse including car keys, and then fled from the home, stealing their dark grey (almost black) Chevy Cruze in the process.” Police say no one was injured in the accident or the burglary. The photos were obtained from a nearby business. The vehicle that the subject was driving at the time of the crash was reported stolen in Goshen, Indiana according to Police.
