Grandson Charged in Gary Arson/Homicide

June 29, 2018-Gary Police have confirmed that charges have been filed as a result of a fire that killed 79 year old Barbara Walker early yesterday morning. According to Lake County Coroner Merrilee Frey, Walker was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:30 a.m. yesterday Cause and manner of death were pending as of the time of the report.

Gary Police say they have charged 25 year old Kyle Gray with Muder, Murder in Perpetration of an Arson, Arson Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury and Arson. Gray is currently in custody. Gray is described as the grandson of Barbara Walker. According to a report from ABC7 Chicago, Gray used an accellerant and lit his 79 year old grandmother on fire.
