State Police say a group of out-of-state motorcyclists missed their exit and were attempting to return to I-65 when a Florida man lost control of his motorcycle
June 25, 2018-A 58 year old Lakeland Florida man travelling with a group of motorcyclists received fatal injuries after he lost control of his motorcycle and struck an informational sign according to a statement from Indiana State Police. According to the report, “at approximately 4:10 a.m., Sunday, June 24, 2018, morning, a 2016 Indian motorcycle, driven by Keith Taylor, 58 of Lakeland, Florida, was east bound on I-80/94 with fellow motorcyclists. They missed their exit for I-65 and planned on exiting at Ripley Street to turn-a-round to go back to I-65. ” Taylor was attempting to exit at Ripley Street when he “lost control, went into the grassy area (separating the exit south bound Ripley Street ramp from I-80/94 east bound) and hit an informational sign” according to Police. The force caused Taylor to go airborn according to the report. Taylor was transported to Methodist Hospital Northlake where he was pronounced dead.
Police say that Taylor was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.
