June 15, 2018- Gary Police are seeking assistance from the public in locating a suspect in a kidnapping that occurred on June 13, 2018 in the early morning hours. According to a statement, the incident occurred in the 700 block of Lincoln Street, Gary, Indiana. “A ten year old male was forced into a black older model box van (possibly a Ford) by a light complexion male black. This vehicle has six doors (two on each side and two in the rear). The vehicle also has gray running boards on each side (driver’s side running board has a dent). The vehicle has dark colored interior and has an ashtray in the front cup holder. It also has a green tree air freshener hanging from the rear view mirror inside. The male suspect was described as a male black approximately between 5’8 – 5’10 medium build with dark colored eyes wearing a full black mask, gray hooded sweatshirt with black zipper, white pants, and black boots with a strap on top.”

The juvenile was able to escape from the van when the driver pulled into an abandoned home and left him unattended according to the report.
