May 8, 2018-Calumet Township Trustee Kimberly Robinson overcame challenges from first term council member LaVetta Sparks-Wade and Willie (Faithful and True) Brown to earn the nomination of the Democratic Party tonight. Despite a controversial Aruba trip, questionable contracts with D&R Site Services and a pay raise on her first day in office, the first term Robinson handily fended off both challengers. For the Township Assessor race, incumbent Jacqelyn Collins defeated challenger Jim Nowacki by a 3 to 1 margin.
Winners for the Calumet Township Board were incumbent Darren Washington, James Piggee and Jacqueline (Jackie) Holmes.
