EC Police Seek Public Assistance After 11 Yr Old Boy Shot

“the victim was transported to St. Catherine Hospital where he was treated for a gunshot wound to the head area. The juvenile victim was subsequently transported to Comers Children hospital in Chicago Illinois.”

May 7, 2018-East Chicago Police are asking for anyone who may have information about a shooting incident on Saturday to come forward. According to a statement from the EC Police Department, an 11 year old boy was transported to Comer Children’s Hospital after he was shot in the head early Saturday evening. “On 5/5/2018 at approximately 1753 hours, East Chicago Police Patrol Units were dispatched to the area of 3700 Block of Elm Street. Upon Officers were advised that an unknown adult female was administering CPR to the juvenile victim” the report states.

Police say a fight between two other juveniles occurred just before the shooting. Police would like help identifying these two juveniles who were in the area of 3700 Elm at approximately 5:53 p.m. on Saturday night. Police have no one in custody in relation to this shooting.
