CORRECTION: RDA Did Not Sponsor Movetoindiana.com Campaign

In response to a public record request, RDA Attorney David Hollenbeck stated “the RDA has not sponsored the “move to Indiana” campaign and the campaign’s utilization of the RDA logo was without the knowledge and/or approval of the RDA.  ”

April 11, 2018-Two days ago we wrote that the South Shore Convention and Visitors Bureau (SSCVA) and the Northwest Indiana Regional Development Authority (RDA) had teamed up on a campaign to lure Illinois residents to Indiana.  At the same time, we issued a public record request to the Northwest Indiana Regional Development Authority.  The article stating that the RDA sponsored the campaign was based on a very prominent list of sponsors on the SSCVA move to Indiana page.  The reference remains at the time of this writing.  In repsonse to our public record request, the RDA made clear that they had not authorized the use of their name or logo on the movetoindiana website.  RDA Attorney David Hollenbeck stated:

“Please be advised that the RDA staff has searched the RDA files and find there to be no such records as identified in your public record request.  I would add to this response that the RDA has not sponsored the “move to Indiana” campaign and the campaign’s utilization of the RDA logo was without the knowledge and/or approval of the RDA.”

We apologize for the error and will follow up with additional information as this unique situation unfolds.

  1. Yea, but they still wanted to use $100,000 of tax payer money to pay off Hanna, RDA’s CEO’s educational debt.

What’s next, Gucci bags to secretaries? Leased Tesla for board members? $250 wet lunches at a strip joint?
