Popular Dog Treats Recalled for Making Dogs Sick

“If you have purchased any of the specific lots of products listed above, we recommend you stop feeding the treats to your dogs”-Statement from Big Heart Pet, inc.

March 28, 2018-Big Heart Pet, Inc. , which makes several popular dog treats under the trade name “Milo’s Kitchen”, is voluntarily recalling two types of the treats. According to a statement from the company, “the products have the potential to contain elevated levels of a beef thyroid hormone. Dogs consuming high levels of beef thyroid hormone may exhibit symptoms such as increased thirst and urination, weight loss, increased heart rate and restlessness. These symptoms may resolve when consumption of these levels is discontinued. However, with prolonged consumption these symptoms may increase in severity and may include vomiting, diarrhea, and rapid or labored breathing. Should these symptoms occur, we recommend contacting your veterinarian immediately”
