Family Dispute Leads to Shooting in Hessville

March 20, 2018-A Hammond man was shot in his Hessville home today after what police are calling a family dispute.  According to Lt. Steven Kellogg, Hammond Police were dispatched to the 6900 block of Tennessee Street at 6:18 a.m. today.  Upon arrival officers determined that “a 48-year-old male in the home had been shot multiple times. The suspect was immediately identified and police took the 37-year-old suspect into custody shortly after the call.”  Police are saying this is an isolated, family related incident.  No information was available as to the condition of the victim.  Additional information will be available when charges are filed.


  1. Thank you,do you know if charges will be filed on the suspect? also victim was shot 6 time’s with full metal jackets, and was unarmed,in my opinion the Hammond police did not handle this situation correctly, this was not self defense,wow!
