Suspects are believed to be involved in a similar armed robbery attempt at Munster Burger King just before Lansing armed robbery and shooting
January 15, 2018-Lansing Police issued the photos below regarding an armed robbery and shooting which occurred on January 14, 2018 at approximately 9:50 pm. The robbery occurred shortly after an attempted armed robbery at the Burger King, 7938 Calumet Avenue, Munster. Lansing Police say the incidents may be related. In the lansing incident, three males walked into Family Dollar 17829 Burnham Avenue, wearing dark clothing with their faces partially covered “The first suspect with the gun had on a black hoodie sweatshirt with white trim and black sweat pants with white stripes down the legs. The second suspect was wearing all black and had a distinctive brown backpack with light colored trim. The third suspect was wearing all black clothes with white and gold shoes and acted as a lookout during the robbery.”
The clerk was shot in the leg during the commission of the robbery and an unknown amount of currency was taken from the cash register. The clerk was transported to a local hospital and the condition of the clerk was not released. The suspects fled the scene through the parking lot and eastbound on foot. Footprints in the snow led to a residential street, where it appears as if they entered into a vehicle.
