January 15, 2018-Lansing Police believe that three suspects who attempted to rob a Munster Burger King may be responsible for shooting a clerk during an armed robbery in their town. According to a statement from the Lansing Police Department, police responded to the Family Dollar, 17829 Burnham Avenue at 9:50 p.m. on January 14. Upon arrival officers found a clerk behind the counter who had suffered a gunshot wound to the leg. The clerk was transported to a local hospital for treatment according to the statement. Witnesses said three males entered the store dressed in dark clothing with their faces partially covered. The statement says that one of the suspects had a handgun and he fired that handgun striking the clerk in the leg. The suspects then fled with an undetermined amount of currency according to police. “This armed robbery appears to be similar to another armed robbery at the Munster, Indiana Burger King restaurant that happened shortly before this incident.”
