BREAKING: Apparent Electrical Fire Strands South Shore Train, Leaves Passengers Stranded

January 14, 2018-A South Shore Commuter train reported a fire on the catenary wires which stranded the train at approximately 11:00 p.m. tonight. Witnesses reported seeing flames arcing from the wires above the train according to information obtained via the scanner. The incident occurred at the Chesterton Station in Porter County. No injuries have been reported at this time. Police, fire and emergency medical crews are on scene at this time and are assisting with the removal of passengers from the train.
