Attempted Armed Robbery at Munster Burger King

January 14, 2018-Munster Police responded to Burger King, 7938 Calumet Avenue, Munster at approximately 9:37 pm for a report of an attempted armed robbery.   According to information derived from the scanner, 3 males entered the restaurant and all three displayed handguns.  The suspects fled the scene in an older model Honda SUV with Illinois license plates.  According to a wtiness on scene, at least 6 people were in the restaurant at the time of the robbery.  A license plate reader is stationed just outside the location but it is not know at this time if police were able to obtain any information from that device.
