Congratulations to Gary Police Chief Richard Allen and Deputy Chief Brian Evans
January 6, 2017-Beginning on Monday January 8, 2018, Gary will see a new police chief and deputy police chief. Sources have confirmed that Internal Affairs Lt. Richard Allen will be promoted to Chief of Police and Commander Brian Evans will assume the role of Deputy Chief of Police on Monday. No reason was provided for the changes. One source, speaking on condition of anonymity, simply said “Chiefs dont last long in Gary.” Another said “it’s a new year?”
