December 26, 2017-Hammond Police were summoned to the 6400 block of Kennedy at approximately 9:25 p.m. today after a report of shooting. Hammond Police have not yet issued a statement on the incident. According to information derived from the scanner, officers located a male who had been shot upon arrival at the scene. Medics moved in and transported the patient to a local hospital. Crime scene tape could be seen marking off an area around a car that was parked outside an apartment building at the intersection of 164th Place and Kennedy Avenue.
