Missing Hammond Teen Found Dead in Gary

December 14, 2017-The deceased body of a Hessville area teenager who has been missing for over a week was found in a remote area of Gary. According to a release from Lake County Coroner Merrilee Frey, Coroner Investigators were called to the 7700 block of West 9th Avenue at 12:47 a.m. today. 17 year old Dylan Morgan was pronounced dead at the scene. The case is being investigated as a homicide according to the release. Further details on the death were not available at the time of this report.

UPDATE: Gary Police have issued a report stating officers were called to the 7700 block of West 9th Avenue at approximately 12:40 a.m. today. “Upon arrival officers discovered a white male in the weeds with no apparent signs of life.” No further details were released by the Gary Police Department.

Dylan was reported missing from the Hessville area of Hammond on December 3, 2017. He was last seen riding his bike in the area of 173rd and Alexander on that date. Hammond Police issued an alert for the missing teen. A GoFundme was set up for the family when the child went missing.
