Washington Arrested Charged with Level 3 Felony Confinement

Lake County Councilman Jamal Washington is being held without bond after charges of confinement, level 3 felony, confinement, level 5 felony, intimidation, level 5 felony, intimidation, level 6 felony, and confinement, level 6 felony as well as battery resulting in bodily injury, class A misdemeanor, interference with reporting of a crime, a class A misdemeanor and battery a class B misdemeanor

December 8, 2017-Lake County Councilman Jamal Washington is being held at the Lake County Jail pending a hearing after police allege that he refused to allow a family member to leave his residence and took her phone so that she could not contact police. According to Court records, Washington has been charged with 5 felony counts and 3 misdemeanor counts as follows:

The charges are the result of a domestic dispute with a relative that had been staying in Washington’s home according to a source close to the investigation.

Washington was charged with 3 felony counts of strangulation and domestic battery on December 4, 2015. One year ago today, that case was resolved after Washington pleaded guilty to one count of misdemeanor battery resulting in bodily injury.
