Woman Robbed at Aldi in Hammond

Suspect is in custoday awaiting charges according to Lt. Steven Kelogg of the Hammond Police Department

December 5, 2017-Hammond Police responded to Aldi Grocery Store in the 7900 block of Indianapolis Boulevard at approximately 5:40 p.m. after a woman reported a man entered her car and took cash. According to Lt. Steven Kellog of the Hammond Police Department, “A 56-year-old female reported that as she entered her vehicle in the lot, a black male in his 40s got into her car on the passenger side. The victim ran from her vehicle. The suspect was able to take approximately five dollars from the victim before fleeing the area.”

Officers searched the area and located the suspect. Charges are pending and the name of the suspect has been withheld pending charges.
