Gary Man Arrested After Drug Task Force Finds Cocaine Hidden in Body Cavity

All criminal defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

December 6, 2017-A Gary man was transported to a local hospital for a full body search after police found him “acting suspicious and sweating badly.” According to a release from Sheriff Oscar Martinez, Drug Task Force Officers were conducting an investigation in the midtown section of Gary on December 5 around noon. They encountered 32 year old Marcus White who officers described as “acting suspicious and sweating badly.” Officers attemtpted to conduct a search of White but “he would not let officers search near his rear bottom and resisted” according to the report. White was then transported to the Lake County Jail where officers again attempted to search White and White again resisted. “officers ultimately applied for and received a warrant for the search of [White’s] body.” White was then transported to a local hospital where “the medical staff was able to extract a bag of cocaine from his rectum” according to the statement. White is being held in the Lake County Jail pending charges of possession of cocaine and heroin.
