Gary Police and Lake County Sheriff Deputies are investigating the incident
November 29, 2017-A Gary man shot an intruder last night according to a report from Lake County Sheriff Oscar Martinez. “On November 28, 2017 at approximately 9:59 p.m. Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 6100 block of West 41st Avenue” the report from Sheriff’s Spokesperson Emiliano Perez states. The resident stated two men forced entry into his home and his dog alerted him to their presence. The resident grabbed a handgun and went to the kitchen where he saw two males wearing ski masks entering his home according to the report. The unidentified resident fired several shots at the individuals the report continues. According to information derived from the scanner, officers reported to Methodist Hospital Northlake where a man with a gunshot wound had been transported. It is unclear if any arrests were made or if the incidents were determined to be unrelated. Officers utilized the Gary Police K-9 to search the area without success.Click here for reuse options!
