November 19, 2017-Crown Point, Lake County and Porter County Police are in pursuit of a vehicle that is believed to be associated with at least 5 armed robberies. According to information obtained via the scanner, a Subway Restaurant on Route 2 in Hebron was robbed just after 9:00 p.m. tonight. The suspect is believed to match the description of a string of region robberies which began earlier in the week. The suspect entered the restaurant and implied that he had a gun and demanded cash.
Police immediately notified all agencies in Lake County and officers began watching exits surrounding Interstate 65. A Crown Point Officer found a Black GMC Terrain travelling at a high rate of speed with no lights. The officer began pursuit of the vehicle. The vehicle continued east on US 30 into Porter County where they ultimately lost sight of the vehicle. Officers continue to search the area at this hour, looking for the vehicle. Officers were able to obtain information from the license plate and are following up on that information.
Earlier tonight officers responded to another Subway Restaurant for a report of a robbery in Hobart. As in other cases, the suspect implied he had a gun but did not display a weapon. The incident occurred just before 7:30 p.m.
The suspect is also linked to armed robberies in Valparaiso, Hobart
