September 8, 2017-Indiana State Police would like to return the dog pictured above to its home and are seeking assistance from the public in doing so. According to a statement from ISP, the dog was found at approximately 2:30 a.m. today on Interstate 65 near Ridge Road. “The K9 appears to be a female of German Shepard breed, black in color with brown paws and approximately a year old. The dog is very friendly and seems to be well trained. She was wearing a red nylon collar however a tag wasn’t attached. The dog has been transported to the State Police Post in Lowell for temporary foster care. A good samaritan has volunteered to take the dog to a local veterinarian to check her for an ownership chip. If a chip isn’t located, they have volunteered to provide the dog with a good home until the owner can be located. If anyone has information on the owner of the dog, please contact the Indiana State Police at 219-696-6242. “
