S. Shore Trains Stopped, Traffic Snarled Due to Police Activity on Bishop Ford

August 8, 2017-Anyone trying to get to or from Chicago at this time will experience delays as the South Shore Commuter Railroad has stopped all trains and automobile traffic is shut down on the Bishop Ford Freeway near 130th Street. According to a statement from Illinois State Police, at approximately 2:30 pm today, Dolton Police pursued a carjacking suspect on to the Bishop Ford Freeway. A Dolton Police Officer shot one suspect and another suspect fled on foot. The area is shut down as officers search for the second suspect.

An incident report estimates that the Bishop Ford will reopen at 5:30 p.m.
