BREAKING: Gary Man Shot in Armed Robbery Outside Car Wash

July 28, 2017-Gary Police responded to 15th and Massachussetts at approximately 5:45 p.m. today after a report of an armed robbery.  According to information obtained via the scanner, police located a man who had been shot at the car wash.  Officers obtained a suspect vehicle description of only a “black tahoe with red mirrors” and were advised that two subjects were each armed with an ak-47 rifles.  Neither the identity nor the condition of the victim is known at this time.  It is not clear if any arrests were made.

The Lake County Metro Homicide Unit was called to the scene but there has been no official confirmation of a homicide at the location at this point in time.
