BREAKING: Man Shot in Car Near Hessville Park

July 27, 2017-Hammond Police are on scene in the 3000 block of 173rd Street after a man was shot while driving. According to witnesses on scene, it appeared that a black Ford truck became angered at the driver of the Ford and shot into the vehicle. The vehicle was occupied by two adults and a small child according to a witness. The driver of the vehicle was transported to a local hospital and the other adult and child were visibly shaken but unharmed according to a witness.

A Hammond Police officer witnessed the shooting and called it in according to information obtained from the scanner. The officer relayed a description of the vehicle at which time another officer immediately spotted the black Ford F-150 entering the highway at Kennedy Avenue. Hammond Police chased the vehicle into Illinois via Interstate 80/94 according to the information obtained from the scanner. Gazette Contributor Chuck Pullen saw the chase pass Torrence Avenue, Heading West toward Chicago.

    This information is not correct it was my brother and there was no second adult in there just him n his son
