Kyle Koliboski of CP Charged in Hammond Hit and Run That Resulted in Death of J Guadalupe Becerra Medina

July 21, 2017-A Crown Point man has been charged in the death of J. Guadalupe Becerra Medina, age 59 of Hammond. According to Lt. Steven Kellogg of the Hammond Police Department, on July 1, 2017, Mr. Medina and another male were walking across Columbia Avenue at approximately 9:15 p.m. when a 2011 Lincoln struck Medina. Medina was transported to Community Hospital in Munster where he succumbed to his injuries. “After a thorough investigation, Hammond Police Hit-and-Run investigators have identified the driver as 29-year-old Kyle Joseph Koliboski from Crown Point. He has been arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in a fatality which is a level 5 felony in the State of Indiana.”

Court records show that Kolibosky has a previous conviction for driving under the influence from 2012. Lake County Attorney John Dull represented him in that case according to court records.

All criminal defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. A criminal charge is not evidence of guilt.
