June 29, 2017-According to a release from Lake County Prosecutor Bernard Carter, Jeri Woods was given two consecutive 60 year sentences for the kidnapping and murder of Antonio and Arreon Lackey. “Jeri Woods was found guilty of the execution style murder of Arreon Lackey and Antonio Lackey on June 2 of this year.” The case of Arreon and Antonio Lackey garnered national attention after 7 family members were charged in the shooting deaths of the 16 and 18 boys. David Johnson III, age 62, David Johnson IV, age 37, Jeri Woods, age 33 (wife of Johnson IV), David Johnson III, age 19, Aarion Greenwood, age 17 (Johnson IV’s son), and Kiontay Cason, age 21 were all charged with murder and kidnapping in the case.
A man fishing in a secluded, wooded area in Hobart discovered the bodies of the two teens on July 17, 2015. The pair had been reported missing by their parents on July 6, 2015. According to Court documents filed at the time of the charges, the Johnson family met the teens at a Merrillville motel on July 6, 2015, kidnapped them and took them to the Hobart location where they were executed. According to the statement from Prosecutor Bernard Carter, the two 60 year sentences are to be served consecutively- meaning the second sentence will begin only after the first has been fully served.Click here for reuse options!
