Hammond Police Seek Assistance ID’ing Armed Robbery Suspect

June 21, 2017-Hammond Police are seeking assistance from the public in identifying a suspect in an armed robbery that took place today at Walgreens, 6510 Columbia Ave. According to Lt. Steven Kellogg of the Hammond Police Department, officers responded to the location at approximately 1:30 p.m. today. “According to an employee, a black male, approximately 5’10” wearing a long-sleeve gray shirt with a red logo, a yellow baseball cap, blue jeans and light colored boots, entered the store and acted like a customer. He then approached the cash register and told an employee to put everything in the bag and displayed a black and silver handgun. After obtaining an unknown amount of money, the subject left the store. The subject was observed on video surveillance tapes in a small, four-door, white vehicle with a hatch type back.”
