Governor to Visit East Chicago to Sign Lead Crisis Bill

May 18, 2017-Governor Eric Holcomb will stop by the City of East Chicago today as he makes three stops in the region. At 11:30 a.m. Holcomb will drop by Riley Park before heading off to meet with One Region in Munster. The Governor will perform a ceremonial signing of House Bill 1344 which relates to the East Chicago lead crisis. Representative Earl Harris is also scheduled to come to town for the event. State Senator Lonnie Randolph will be in attendance also.

    But you won’t hear the governor say anything about Whiting Metals,formerly Federated Metals that spews lead and zinc in the air because Whiting politicians don’t want no trouble!
