April 5, 2017-For the third time in four days, Hammond Police responded to an armed robbery call on Kennedy Avenue. Hammond Police were called to Supermercado Ortega, 7234 Kennedy Avenue before noon today in reference an armed robbery. According to the owner of the store, a male came in and demanded cash. Hammond Police have not yet issued a report on this incident, we will update you when additional details become available.
On April 3, 2017, a light skinned black male entered the Speedway Gas Station, 7345 Kennedy Avenue, pointed a weapon at the clerk and demanded money according to police. On April 3 at approximately 12:47 p.m. police were dispatched to Dunkin Donuts regarding an armed robbery. The three businesses are within blocks of one another. It is unclear at this point if it is the same suspect or if multiple individuals are targeting local businesses.Click here for reuse options!
