Gary Man Shot . . . Then Arrested

April 3, 2017-Gary Police say an 18 year old Gary man was shot and then arrested on two outstanding felony warrants on Saturday. According to the report from Lt. Thomas Pawlak, “on April 2, 2017 around 6:45 pm Gary Police Department received a call for service in the area of 5th Ave and Clark Rd. in reference to a
gunshot victim. Upon arriving Gary Police Officers found a 18 yr. old Gary man shot twice, once in the hip and leg. The victim was transported to Methodist Hospital Northlake for treatment by Gary Fire Department.” Police identified the shooting victim as 18 year old Elijah Nolan. Nolan was unable to provide police with a description of who shot him according to Lt. Pawlak but “During the course of the investigation it was discovered that the victim, Elijah Nolan, had an active Lake County arrest warrant for Armed Robbery (level 3) and Robbery (level 5). Nolan was taken into custody for the warrants.”
