18 Year Old Charged in Gary Triple Shooting

March 2, 2017-Gary Police have announced charges have been filed in a triple shooting that occurred on December 14, 2016. According to a statement from Lt. Dawn Westerfield, Gary Police were called to the 3600 block of Van Buren on December 14, 2016. Officers discovered that a man had entered the residence and attempted to rob three men inside. All three men were shot and the suspect fled prior to police arrival. All of the victims survived the shooting.

Police have charged 18 year old Jaron Johnson is charged with 3 counts of Attempted Murder, 3 counts of Battery by
Means of a Deadly Weapon, 3 counts of Batter Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury and 1 count of Attempted Armed Robbery Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury. Jaron Johnson is currently in custody in Cook County Illinois on unrelated charges.
