Gary Police Charge 3 in Shooting of Retired Capt. Austin

February 23, 2017-Gary Police say they have filed charges against three individuals as a result of yesterday’s shooting of a retired Gary Police Captain. Captain Charles Austin was shot in his home just before midnight on February 21, 2017 in what police are describing as a home invasion. ” During the incident the suspects
forced entry into a residence and once inside came in contact with the homeowner who was subsequently shot” according to Police.

Kevon J Dixon, Cameron J Briscoe and Fo’Tre D White are all charged with Aggravated Battery, Battery by Means of a Deadly Weapon, Battery Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury and Residential Entry. Briscoe and White are currently in custody. Kevon J Dixon is at large.

Kevon Dixon should be considered Armed and Dangerous, please do not attempt to approach him. Call 911 if you come in contact with Kevon Dixon.
